Columbia is a prestigious university, and no doubt it has a rather symbiotic role with elements in the US federal Government.  Of course, it wouldn't be necessary for the Secy. of Defense to actually deny any funding - threatening would probably generate enough publicity to force ROTC onto the campus.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Such a move would be quite bold, given Columbia's relationship with former US President Eisenhower.  I imagine it's unlikely, but it would be really sad for this to become increasingly politicized.</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">farkinga</dc:creator><pubDate>Wed, 26 Sep 2007 16:40:36 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
